The Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs™ is the oldest and largest food and wine society in the world. Our society is vintage, but our events are cutting edge! The chapter in the United States is now in its 60th year with about 6,000 gourmands, gourmets, gastronomes, chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers, oenologists, winery owners, sommeliers, food and wine educators, and others interested in the finest of dining and life experiences and enjoying the camaraderie of friends at dinners and events. The tradition of the royal guild of goose roasters of 1248 was revived in Paris in 1950, and we now carry on those traditions.
Always a bastion of fine dining, when the New Orleans Chapter was founded in 1961 it was one of the earliest chapters in the United States. The New Orleans Bailliage has approximately 100 members which are very active in all our events.
The Chaîne Foundation
The National Chaîne Foundation is a tax-exempt organization established in 1993 (and reincorporated in New Jersey in 2008) with a goal of providing scholarships to deserving culinary and oenological students.
The Foundation’s grants provide welcome financial aid to our young confrères and consoeurs who will someday be staffing the restaurants and hotels we enjoy during our Chaîne and Mondiale events. At this early stage of their careers, even a few dollars can ease financial strain allowing them the peace of mind to passionately pursue their studies.
